Forton travelled to Cae Glas looking to continue their good form.
Faced with a minefield of a track the toss was going to be an important factor, and after losing it, Forton were invited to bat.
Things did not start well with Mat MacInnes, Owen Meredith and Alan Heslop all back in the pavilion and Forton in deep trouble at 15-3.
Rodger Spooncer and John Hemmings started to rebuild the innings taking the score to 35 before Spooncer offered up a simple catch to be dismissed for just 6.
Bushnell and Hemmings looked to be assertive and moved the score past 50 before Hemmings was adjudged LBW for 30.
He was followed by Dave Leech for a duck to leave Forton at 71-6. Chris McKee and Adam Bushnell took the score towards 100 before the Bushnell was trapped in front for 28.
Mark Hill offered stubborn resistance in support of McKee and together they took the score past the 100 mark before Hill was dismissed.
Cae Glas sensed things could be wrapped up quickly however Chris Sayers blasted a 28 from just 14 balls and along with McKee (25) pushed Forton through to a competitive total of 143-9 from their 45 overs.
The Sayers brothers produced fantastic spells of fast controlled bowling. Matt Sayers was the first to strike with an LBW in the second over and followed it up by clean bowling danger man Holgate for 1. Chris Sayers then struck clean bowling the remaining opener leaving Cae Glas at 11-3.
Matt Sayers claimed his third wicket before Chris dismantled the middle order with an LBW, three clean bowled and a stunning catch from Alan Heslop via Dave Leech's face.
Only Oakley offered any resistance with 17. Matt Sayers claimed the final wicket as Cae Glas were all out for just 41.
The captain finishing with 4-18, however the pick of the bowling being Chris Sayers who finished with 6-20.
Forton will look to continue the good form next week when they host Bishops Castle.
