Thousands are expected to descend on the town tomorrow for the 101st Newport Show.
After months of preparations, Chetwynd Deer Park will swing open its gates on Saturday from 8am.
The show has long been a staple ingredient of the Newport calendar.
But while its emphasis remains on agricultural, show manager Clare Farrell said there will be something there for everyone to enjoy.
She said: “Traditionally the show’s roots were in farming and promoting the area’s agricultural industries. While we remain true to those aims, there is also a strong sense of wanting to attract people from all walks of life and providing a great day out for families.”
There will be a wide range of attractions on offer from dog displays to food stalls and motorbike stunts to knights on horseback.
Returning this year will be the Whitchurch Dog Display Team, which has been performing their doggy displays for over 25 years.
All dogs are family pets and come in a variety of shapes and sizes from Deerhound to Jack Russell.
Also wowing the crowds will be the Bolddog Lings Freestyle Team, the UK’s top-ranked freestyle motorcross riders. They will be performing the latest in heart-stopping tricks while flying 35 feet into the air.
Judging will begin early with horse classes from 8am, livestock at 9.30am and the canine section at 10am.
And a huge Food Hall will once again be open to showcase the region’s finest foods.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate and are priced as follows: £10 for adults, £8 for senior citizens, £4 for children aged between five and 15, £20 for a family ticket and free for children under five.
