Newport football star and former Wolves striker Adam Proudlock has been told that he can leave Grimbsy Town FC after being placed on the transfer list.
This week, the Mariners confirmed that three players have been released by the club and seven have been placed on the transfer list.
The news was announced after the side were relegated from the Football League this season.
Proudlock, 29, left Newport in 2008 after being released by Stockport County.
He briefly ventured to Darlington on a free transfer and then made his way to Grimsby on a two month loan in November 2008.
Making his debut in the FA Cup defeat to Morecambe he managed to score his first goal for the club in a 2-1 away defeat against Port Vale, impressing manager Mike Newell in his loan stay.
Proudlock made his move to Grimsby a permanent one by signing for the club until the end of the 2010-2011 season in January 2009.
A highlight at Grimsby included scoring a hat-trick against local rivals Lincoln City in a 5-1 victory in March last year.
He finished the 2008-09 season as the club’s top goalscorer, with a total of eight goals.
Following only one league goal for the Mariners during the 09-10 season, Proudlock was named as one of seven players on the transfer list by Grimsby manager Neil Woods.
Other players on the list include Chris Jones, Nick Hegarty, Adrian Forbes, Paul Linwood, Nathan Jarman and Peter Sweeney.
Proudlock has also appeared for Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town.
