Town beauty specialist ImagineMe is bringing a piece of ancient Turkey to the cobbled streets of Newport.
The beauty specialists on St Mary Street have introduced Turkish haircutting and shaving to their impressive repertoire.
Mesut Yilmaz, husband of ImagineMe owner Deborah Owen, started work this week.
Mr Yilmaz, who has more than six years of experience in traditional east European male grooming in his homeland of Turkey, will be on hand to offer the full razor shave, hair cut and singeing experience.
And today ImagineMe is also offering free haircuts and shaves to all male customers.
“I’ve always wanted to introduce men care to ImagineMe,” said Mrs Owen.
“Men, after all, need the same care as women. Hopefully men will come in for a haircut and shave and then they’ll feel more comfortable going to the other ends of the saloon.
“The whole haircutting experience is different in Turkey - it’s all so neat and clean.
“The hair is washed twice. You get a real full service for a tenner.
“We try to cater for everyone but we’ll still keep the women treatments separate.”
A full shave, haircut and singeing of nose and ear hairs normally costs £15.
Mr Yilmaz’s arrival to the eight-strong team at ImagineMe coincides with the business’ second anniversary.
Mrs Owen is also celebrating having worked in the town for 18 years.
Also new to the team is Mrs Owen’s daughter Jocelyn, who has become the company’s latest hair stylist.
Earlier this month ImagineMe branched out into body piercing with fully trained staff.
They also perform advanced Sculptra treatment, which fights against wrickles, and have clinic nurse Ros Brown in store on Thursdays and Fridays.
Teeth whitening is also carried out on site while Mrs Owen specialises in the science of permanent make-up.
She added: “The beauty and aesthetics side of the business is doing really well but we want to lift the profile of the hair care now.”
