A man was airlifted to hospital after being run over by a tractor at Newport Show today.
The show was delayed for more than 45 minutes after the incident, which happened during the Machines Through the Ages display in the main ring.
The incident happened at 4pm and on-site paramedics immediately rushed to the aid of the man.
The air ambulance helicopter was forced to land at Chetwynd Church and the dog show had to be interrupted to allow paramedics access to the injured man.
He was then airlifted to Selly Oak hospital in Birmingham.
The accident happened on the far side of the showground near to the lake where the tractors and other machines were based.
The 2009 Newport Show is the 100th edition of the popular agricultural event and it continued as normal after the incident.
